Oscar "Ozzy" Lusth (born
August 23,
1981 in
Guanajuato,
Guanajuato,
Mexico) was a contestant on . He finished as the 1st runner-up in a 5-4-0 vote to
Yul Kwon. Lusth also competed in as one of the returning favorites. Prior to his
Survivor appearances, Lusth appeared on the
Playboy TV pornographic reality-dating show
Foursome. He currently lives in
Venice, California, with his dog Buddha.
Ozzy was the longest-lasting contestant from the original Aitutaki tribe, and stayed an Aitutaki member even after the tribe switch. Dominant in swimming, agility and balance, he won six out of eight individual challenges. He was also very valuable in the tribal challenges, as he helped the Aitutaki tribe to win challenges despite being a minority — after
Jonathan Penner and Candice Woodcock switched to the Rarotonga tribe, they'd only four members against Rarotonga's eight. They were able to stay at four and not lose a single immunity challenge until the merge, where they stood at four members against Rarotonga's five. At the final Tribal Council, he was praised for his athletic skills, but he was criticized for being somewhat of a loner. He finished in second place to
Yul Kwon, in a 5-4-0 vote.
The season began airing on
February 7 2008. This was his second appearance on Survivor, and Lusth commented, "My mistakes last time were basically being too much of a loner. I'm never going to go anywhere by myself except to use the bathroom". His relationship with fellow castmate and participant
Amanda Kimmel became notable early on in the season, with Cirie Fields joking that Amanda would be giving birth to "little Ozzlets". In episode 4, he found the immunity idol on Exile island and put a fake idol where he found the real one. In episode 10, he left his hidden immunity idol at camp, and was subsequently voted out 5-4 due to his strong competitiveness and possibilities of a unanimous victory in the future. After being voted out, he professed his love for the coconut on Ponderosa; the camp where jury members stay after they've been eliminated, and continue to stay until the final tribal council. At the final tribal council he berated Parvati for selling away their friendship and confessed his love for Amanda. He and Amanda are still together as of the reunion show. He also revealed at the reunion show that he and Parvati have healed their friendship.
